Meet Our Leadership Team
Dr Charles Mugaviri, President
Charles’ life journey started in round grass thatched brick and mortar hut in a remote village in Shurugwi, Zimbabwe, Africa. Charles’ early years were spent in that village. Those early childhood years were his first ‘African housing experience.’ His teenage years were spent in a crowded high-density suburb where he witnessed the need for quality social housing in an urban set up.
In his twenties Charles had the privilege of studying for his last 3 degrees at Birmingham University, UK after he completed his first degree at the University of Zimbabwe. That exposure in the United Kingdom gave him a new ‘housing experience’ that revealed the gap between his early years experiences and the developed world. He then clearly realized the quality of buildings and other amenities define the quality of life of any people. The gap between his village experience, high density urban experience and the Birmingham experience was too obvious to ignore.
As a life and business coach, Charles has travelled widely over the last 15 years across Africa and other parts of the world. The need for quality housing in Africa became apparent during his numerous visits to African countries. Most African countries have a huge housing backlog and the majority of those on the waiting list are in the social and low-income housing category.
Charles is pleased to deploy his wide leadership experience to empower and transform the lives of many people across Africa who are eagerly seeking innovated, high quality and cost-effective housing solutions. Charles is a family man, happily married to Shingie and they have been blessed with 3 lovely children, Tinashe Charles Junior, Tendaishe, and Takundanashe.

Modular and Prefabricated construction is a clear alternative to site-built methods. It reduces inefficiencies and also offers numerous advantages:
Improved Quality Structurally, modular and Prefabricated buildings are generally stronger than site-built construction. This is because each unit is engineered to withstand the stressors of transportation and craning onto foundations.
Modular and Prefabricated buildings are built to meet or exceed the same building codes and standards as site-built structures. The buildings perform and look as good as traditional on-site constructed structures and they are easily designed to match and blend in with their surroundings.
Time and Cost Savings Modular and Prefab Construction saves both time and money as it allows site preparation to occur while the buildings are being manufactured with no delays caused by factors, such as weather. Because construction of the buildings can occur simultaneously with the site and foundation work, projects can be completed 30% to 50% sooner than traditional construction.
Most units are delivered 70%–90% complete, with minimal onsite finishing work to be completed in the days following. A potential savings of 15%-30% is realized by employing modular construction methods.
Greener Construction Off-site construction can dramatically reduce waste and make it easier to use manufacturing methods and environmental principles during construction. Materials used in modular and prefabricated construction are easier to recycle, since they haven’t been exposed to the elements.
Key drivers for the use of Modular and Prefabricated Construction include:
Modular and Prefabricated construction presents a logical alternative to site-built methods that helps solve the many housing and world challenges we face today.
Social Housing is a term that refers to houses owned by the state, or nonprofit organizations, or in some cases by a combination of both with the aim to provide affordable housing. As the population of Africa grows, so does the demand for affordable housing. Conventional methods of construction are not able to keep up with the demand that Africa faces today. Modular and Prefabricated Construction can be the best answer to Africa's housing issues.
African Housing Solution
Modular and Prefab housing and construction can help to release fiscal pressures on the many African countries, as the cost of the building is much more reasonable compared to traditional brick and mortar buildings. The materials used in the building of the units have very high ratings against fire, wind and earthquakes.
Modern Modular and Prefab construction methods ensure quality production of building components that surpass the standard brick-and-mortar methods currently used in many parts of Africa. All units are manufactured at a plant while the ground work and foundations are being constructed. They are manufactured to meet the strict bylaws and building standards for each specific region. The material wastage is minimized, quality is maintained, and labour time for construction is reduced substantially, alongside the overall construction costs.
Modular and Prefab construction are the perfect solution for a wide range of educational and multi-family housing projects in Africa including:
In our opinion, the combination of economic facilities with the use of modern modular and prefab construction practices and technologies, makes them the best building solution to address the demand for housing projects in Africa.
Building for a sustainable future is one of our top priorities at the African Housing Division. We understand the unique challenges that Africa and the rest of the world face as we move forward to build affordable housing and provide the energy required. Alternative energy sources such as solar and wind power can be incorporated in the development of modular and prefab construction to provide clean and sustainable energy.
By combining green technology with modern modular and prefab construction, we are able to provide African homeowners with the clean energy to help Africa become a world leader in eco-friendly solutions for their housing challenges.
Thank you for your interest in the African Housing Division. We would be happy to bring your housing projects to life. Our friendly team members are here to support you and answer any questions you may have.
